Interactive & Video Programs

Since I was a kid, I have always been involved in some type of "studio-work". It wasn't until my 1st few months after joining Merry-Go-Round Enterprises that I began to learn what went into creating "video" programs.

Fortunately, over the years, I was able to learn how to write scripts, create visuals (storyboards, etc.), record scratch-tracks, direct and edit, so that I could gain control over an entire project. In 1996, I ventured into on-line interactive-media with Alexander & Tom, Inc. and the USDA.

MGRE

[Merry-Go-Round-Ent.]

I was introduced to Merry-Go-Round Enterprises around 1981, as it was a favored client of Human Equations, Inc., the management-development consulting firm for which I was an associate.

After meeting with MGRE executives in December of 1984, I became their "in-house" consultant for the Company's Organizational Development & Training effort with whom I worked with exclusively for the next 12 years, until the Company's closing in February of 1996.

Through those years, while my function varied, a major theme of what I contributed had to do with building the Company's training & development programs which also included building an entire video network. The frame above lists some of the videos that we developed. I must emphasize the word "WE", because throughout the years, many fellow co-workers contributed heavily to "MGRE's Video Network".

Seminar Series

As Human Equations' CEO, Mac Bernstein, prepared himself for his "semi-retirement" stage, he put together material and hosted a seminar series on the top floor of Baltimore's World Trade Center. A video-team was brought in and I was commissioned to direct, edit and produce a series of video-workshops.

USDA/Federal Government On-Line Courses: Subject Matter Expert

Being associated with Alexander & Tom, an interactive marketing and educational agency, I had the opportunity to be involved with the USDA's efforts in establishing on-line courses for federal employees and associates.

I qualified as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for 3 courses: Cultural Diversity, Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment. Each course consisted of various scenarios involving "topic areas", information, exercises and a quiz. It was the beginning of a large-scale undertaking, in that the "student-base" included government employees and associates situated around the world and each course would be taken by as many as 40,000 members!

Retailer's in-house message for the Holiday Season

Golf America, a high-end retail-chain specializing in "everything golf", wants to motivate and educate their store employees and review selling techniques for the upcoming holiday.

A script is developed in which the video presents a "Holiday Sales Meeting", having the local store (the "flagship store") be the setting, and its' flagship-store members and home office personnel participate, while the Company's popular President & Vice President of Store Operations act as the hosts of the meeting!

The results? The entire chain of stores hears the same message and is motivated by the home office's and store crew's enthusiasm.

A MACHINE COMPANY NEEDS A MARKETING VIDEO

Fleck Machine Company based in Hanover, MD, wants to make a statement about their confidence as being a top-of-the-line facility, emphasizing their strengths pertaining to two industry-specific problem areas: "quality of work" and "delivery time". With that in mind, we develop a brochure as well as a marketing video, which briefly gives a tour of the plant explaining their quality control and assuring control of the manufacturing process.

The Care Principle

The Care Principle started out as an 8 module management development program initially developed for MGRE (Merry-Go-Round-Enterprises) in the early 90's. It was later published for the use of client companies @ Human Equations, Inc. (1996-98); and up-dated in seminar/workshop format for the AMM family of companies (Multi-Specialty HealthCare, etc.) from 2002-2010. I am in the process of updating and revamping the material for print/on-line/DVD format for general corporate use (intended release in late 2017).

Customized Educational/Professional Development Programs

Management Skill Sets: I have developed modules in a variety of areas using a variety of mediums. Many of them are interactive "click through" programs with audio support.  I can customize programs to have any look & feel and cover any topic that fits your specific needs. Below is a list of some of the areas I have developed programs for. A brief summary of each can be found by clicking on the appropriate link. If you need a presentation built, I can build it.

If you come-up with any topic areas that you'd like to explore, please let me know.

Keep in mind that all material is tailored to fit your organizational needs.
